With a population of just over 2 million people, the previous northern frontier of Yugoslavia and a member of the EU since 2004 and the Eurozone in 2007, Slovenia is one of the most beautiful places to discover within Europe. Unemployment fell to a nine year low in April 2018 of around 5%, meaning that this EU nation is searching for new talent to fill both skilled and unskilled roles. It is a full participant of various EU networks and initiatives to improve the mobility of labour within Europe and I was asked to run a communication workshop for one of these teams.

We started by reviewing the teams presentation skills, and provided critical appraisal on the strengths and weaknesses. This was followed by a session on the five levels of intimacy and discussed if the right communication tools were being used. Every individual within the team also analysed their own role within the wider communication flow. \”Am I receiving enough information for me to meet my objectives? \”, \”Is there a clear feedback channel to management if needed?\”, \”Am I overwhelmed by the number of emails and what can I do about that?\”.
By the end of my five days in Slovenia I was convinced that this is one of Europe\’s paradises that needs to be discovered! Many thanks again to Jana Krušič for organising and creating such an unforgettable experience.
